new Mac config

I didn't see a L5 Mac specific forum so apologies if I am offending any Windows fans .

I just got my new Mac Mini and got a Thunderbolt LaCie 255Gb SSD to run the OS and apps. It is SWEET! One of my struggles was running L5 on my previous iMac ... loads of spinning beach balls. So I am hoping for great things. Can I simply drag and drop my L5 from the HD onto the SSD? Where do all the data files reside? I have plenty of space so would like the entire thing to live on the SSD. Would it be easier to simply reinstall it from the web?

Eric, when I recently upgraded my mid-2009 MBP to a mid-2013 MBA, I used migration assistant. It worked really well and Logos 5 transferred over without so much as having to do a re-index or re-compile a personal book!

This also worked for me. If you have the OS on the SSD, Migration Assistant should do the job for you. For future reference, let us know how it works for you.

Like others, the migration assistant made the transfer painless. The only problem is that it migrates everything on the old Mac, so I backed up some of the files and programs and removed them from the old Mac before migrating.
