Basic help using Logos for a busy pastor

I'm sure this has been asked, but I have need of someone to walk me through the basics of how to use Logos. I have owned it for almost two years, currently have gold V5 and am probably using less than 5% of what the program can do. By the way, 'yes" I have watched some of the online video tutorials. They are less logical-step-by-step than I need.
I would really appreciate someone who has time early next week walking me through how to use this or telling me now where to find this level of help.
Many thanks!

Welcome to the Forums. Harold, I would be willing to assist via skype or some other form of online voice chat. Let me know if you are interested.

I don't know which video tutorials you have watched, but if you've only tried the official ones, you might find these useful: http://www.logosbiblesoftwaretraining.com/ - they're more detailed than the official videos (some say too detailed!).
Unfortunately, I can't help you next week, as I'm away at a conference.

If the online videos Mark linked to aren't enough, and if Lynden's gracious offer to Skype doesn't fit the bill, I would recommend looking into either getting the Camp Logos videos (about to leave pre-pub) or actually attending an event. The latter may be best if you are a hands on learner, and like to ask questions.

(I was just informed that my email responses are not posted here - so I'll paste them in. Thanks for your kind replies!)
Thanks for the kind offer. I don't do skype but do use FB chat or gmail chat. I would even be willing to use a speaker phone to get the basics under my belt. Maybe you know of some other helpful method of communication to this end?

Thanks much for the lead, Mark!

I sure appreciate the information - and yes I think I would really benefit from attending an event. Sadly, none are very close to Kansas City. (I should have mentioned where I am)
I will look into the cost of the videos.Thanks!0 -

I noticed that Forum USER Edwin Bowden has a KC Royals hat in his profile picture. I wonder if you started a new thread "Logos Tutoring in KC in exchange for a case of Gates & Sons BBQ sauce" He or some other user in your area might be able to help out. [:D] I grew up in KC and have the time available. I am VERY tempted to schedule a trip to visit my parents (in Shawnee, KS) and budget an afternoon to help you out.

Ha! - That would be wonderful! I would take you to a Royals game in exchange! My sons would want to tag along, of course :-)

Make it Chiefs tickets and you've got a deal! [:D] Seriously, I am a 10 year Logos user who has been in the pastorate for 25 years. I am currently unemployed so there is NOT a whole lot to keep me from driving to KC on Monday and spending a few days in the City of Fountains. Let me discuss it with the wife this evening.

I have noted your email address in case you want to go back and delete it from the previous post so that spam bots don't get it.

Harold,
I am in south Johnson county Kansas (near 143th and Pfumm). I would be happy to help you some time, as well. Are you the pastor of Covenant Reformed Church in Kansas City?

Todd is an MVP so his help would be even better than what I could offer! Thanks for stepping into this thread!
Harold, click on the "More" button in the post that you want to edit and a drop down menu will appear that allows you to edit a previous post (this only works for a short time after the original post)

Todd and David, it would be wonderful if you could have a face to face meeting with Harold. That is the power of the Logos community. I am still available if you need me Harold.

Turns out we have mutual friends. I may have even met you before. I sent you a Facebook friends request.
BTW, I highly recommend Mark's videos.

This thread has been fun to observe! I love seeing the Logos community at work in example after example, but these offers to meet up in person really take the cake. Love it when people go beyond the call of duty.
Blessings to you, Harold, as you learn more about Logos so that you can dig deeper into the Word, and I hope you end up meeting one or two new Logos friends.

Rosie, I would have flown out to Kansas also, but my 747 is being overhauled. [;)]

Heh, I would have too, but I've spent so much on Logos resources that I had to sell my 747 to pay the credit card bills.

You are correct. I became a Royals fan after moving to KC 27 yrs ago. I am really enjoying their winning season. It's a nice reward for the faithful suffering fans since the 1985 World Series.
There are several Logos users in the KC area. I'm glad that you were able to quickly connect to a MVP close to you.
I have been using Logos for about 6 yrs. I attended a Camp Logos when it was L3. My pastor recently attended Camp Logos ! & 2 when it was here in KC. I live in Grandview. I know a Logos using pastor in the north side of KC. It would be a great idea if we could get together periodically and share some of our favorite tips.

Thanks so much, David. Look me up when you do come to KC!

Take Notice Logos - some type of resource that would allow local user groups to collaborate may be an idea to consider. I LOVE the forums and the user-created videos, but there is still some place for face to face peer learning.

I live in Kansas and go to KC often. I would rather go to the Bahamas.
