Community Pricing on Works of Charles Hodge

Is there any word regarding any final price adjustment for the Works of Charles Hodge for those who already own some of the items? Particularly those who have the Systematic Theology in a previous Logos package. There are also some items that have been available previously, such as The Life of Charles Hodge ( I believe it was a free book for a limited time) and Princeton Sermons. There are some great titles in the package that are worth obtaining. The current price of $90.00 is a bit rich for the works in the package that are currently missing from my library, but I will stay in with the hope that there will be a further break in price considering that others may also have some of the best parts of this package already in their library.
If there is any encouragement that there will be a price adjustment, I would have a bigger smile on my face when the works of Charles Hodge goes into production in the near future and would love to hear about any such encouragement.

The Crossway Classics are a condense version of the real thing.

I didn't realize that there was so much overlap. Thanks for pointing this out. Dynamic pricing for this is a great request.

Quite a significant amount of overlap with what many of us already have - hence the length of time it took to get this far and the lack of a drop in price after it went through 100%.
Many people have what they consider to be the most valuable items in this collection and are reluctant to spend much on the remainder. [:-*]

I kind of doubt Logos has tagged all these duplicate resources twice. This really amounts to paying twice for the same resource.

Could someone from Logos please let us know if these are overlapped resources or if we are missing something?

Is the glass half empty or full?
I never seen dynamic pricing for a Community Pricing item. Seeing that you get the best prices here. As it is you already have a savings over $200. I think thats more than what you already paid for the items you have? No?

I already made this post in another thread called CP's closing Aug 16th
but I didn't want this question to get lost so I decided to post it here too.
I already have all 4 commentaries in this set (currently on sale for $74.99 plus the Life of Charles Hodge currently on sale for $35.99. Because dynamic pricing doesn't apply this set is less attractive to me. I'm still undecided. Can anyone make a good case why the rest of the set (without these 5 books) is worth $90?

I hate to make this argument because I feel like I am arguing for the practice of paying twice for a resource.
If we wait for the Pre-Pub to ship the price will dramatically increase. Then we have to wait for dynamic pricing to be implemented on this collection. Then we discover our price, after dynamic pricing adjustments, is higher than the $90 we could of bought it for in Pre-Pub.
There. Now don't you feel good about paying twice for the same resource? [6]

Thanks for the explanation...I think... I'm more confused than ever. [:S]

You will notice in my previous reply I did not try to make the argument the balance of the collection is worth $90. The reason I avoided it is because I'm not sure it is. Like you, I already have what I believe to be the best parts of this collection. I am hard-pressed to convince myself, much less others.

Wondering about pre-pub offering to complete set ?
Currently have items from base package upgrades and master bundle purchases. The $ 4.50 volume average for 20 new volumes in this community pricing collection is higher than my overall Logos Library average.

Likewise hard pressed so sent inquiry to Logos. Systematic Theology is included in Logos 5 Starter and above. Wonder how the "new" community pricing resources will compare to nine existing Logos resources ?

Same for me. I am almost inclined to recommend everyone cancel their bids on this Charles Hodge Collection and move that money over to a $100 bid on The Princeton Theological Review. They will probably might get more Charles Hodge content that way.

The bottom line: More bids now means a lower price later. It's to everyone's advantage to bid on this.
If you change your mind, you can always cancel the order after it enters pre-pub, or even 30 days after you receive it.

Given all the facts that is what I decided to do yesterday.

Uh-oh. Now I feel guilty. I was rashly speaking out of support for The Princeton Theological Review.
Elnwood made a very good point about everybody bidding. Especially now that it is about to go down to $80.
You still have time to re-enter a bid and think about it later.

Okay, now I feel like I have a yo-yo strategy. I just put my bid in for $90 (again). Come on folks, let's at get this down to at least $80.

There must be some more people out there that can help push this to $80. Any takers?

Milford, I like your thinking but it took a long time to get it from $90 to $80. Let's see how it goes.
