Lenski Surprise!

I was persuaded by the recent Blog post about the Lenski Commentary series and decided to take a look at the cost.

so I looked at the price, which was $300, but I got a niggle in the back of my mind (the Holy Spirit?) that my upgrade price to go from Logos 5 Gold to Logos 5 Platinum was in that ballpark (I previously had Logos 4 Platinum). So I checked, and to my great surprise and with much excitement, saw that my upgrade to Logos 5 Platinum (which includes Lenski) was only $245 which is $55 cheaper than the commentary set alone! As I scrolled down looking at what other resources I would get with the Platinum upgrade, I noticed NA28. I have that on prepub because it is not a part of Logos 5 Gold and the cost is $70. It just kept getting better and better! Then I also noticed the Expositor's Greek New Testament, and that pushed me over the edge along with the Preaching the Word Commentary, all for less than the cost of Lenski alone!
I have overused the "!" but this is pretty exciting. I encourage any of you who might be interested in Lenski to also look at an upgrade to Platinum and see if it might not be a great deal for you also.

I'm so glad you decided to look at an upgrade package, rather than just the Lenski set. These upgrade packages, for all the accusations of 'fluff' they get (and I won't argue, except over the definition of 'fluff'), are almost always the best way to build a solid and diverse research library.
I also went with Platinum (early on) and the resources you note above were some of the main reasons I did.

Good for you! It's nice to get a good deal on resources you really can use. I find that often the pricing from Logos can be a bit wonky that way. I recently received an email discount offer for the Life Application Bible Commentary Series. I seemed to recall that my academic pricing had this a few bucks cheaper than the discount offer I'd just received. I received another offer this morning that I can purchase cheaper if I buy the books separately. One needs to be prudent and check the various packages to confirm you are getting the best deal.
On a somewhat side note, I believe the NA28 that comes in Platinum doesn't have the Critical Apparatus like the pre-pub. You may want to keep the pre-pub order open.

In a highlighted box after the description on the pre-pub page, and unless I am misunderstanding it (it isn't perfectly clear), I think it means that if you get the NA28 as part of a base package, it will be automatically upgraded to include the apparatus, but if you just purchase the NA28, it will NOT be upgraded with the apparatus.
"The existing NA28 in base packages will be updated to include apparatus markers. Already have the text and want the apparatus? The NA28 apparatus is available on Pre-Pub!"

There are three ways to get the NA28:
- If you have the NA28 in a base package you will get the apparatus update.
- If you buy product #29980 you will get the apparatus with NA28
- If you buy product #29981 you get the NA28 without the apparatus *see note below*
Hope this helps.
*NOTE* You will discover there is no delete button on your cart that appears when you click #29981. Do not worry. It does not stay in your cart unless you proceed. Do not proceed unless you want to purchase NA28 without the apparatus. This is a quirk on the "non-catalogued" purchases.

NA28 critical apparatus resource is available for $49.95 pre-pub addition to a Logos 5 base package.

No, you will not. From everything I understand, you will get an updated NA28 with the apparatus markers, but not the apparatus itself.

Correct.

No, if you buy that you will get the apparatus without the NA28. (I e that is what you need to buy if you already have the NA28 in a base package and want the apparatus.)
