Getting Verse of the Day out of my Windows 8 Lock screen

I'm a Windows 8 user on my laptop and had installed the Verse of the Day app and used it for several months. After that time, I went into settings, lock screen, and tried to use something else. Verse of the Day kept coming up whenever it went to lock screen. I uninstalled Verse of the Day. Still came up. I uninstalled the Win 8 Logos app. Still came up. I emptied my browser cache (Chrome). Still came up. 

Seems there is now nothing I can do to get my lock screen back. Any ideas? This is one of those little things that is simply annoying because it's so stubborn. Verse of the Day is a nice app, but I don't want it to follow me to my grave!
