Will this HP Envy Split X2 configuration run Logos 5 well?

I was pondering the HP Envy Split X2 Windows Tablet again tonight. Here are the specs of the $1K+ machine I was dreaming about.
Anyone think this screen is any good or that this machine might have trouble running Logos 5.0 effectively once actually separated from the keyboard in Tablet mode? How does it compare to the Surface Pro (Not RT) for example?

I ran L5 on a core 2 duo with only 4gb from day one. It ran ok. Not spectacular, but ok. (Current config is in my signoff.) You're likely going to experience 3 "pinch points" (areas where you feel pinched by lack of responsiveness):
- An i3 has about as much horsepower as that core 2 duo. L5 should at least "walk" or maybe even "trot," even if it won't run fast.
- The 128 GB SSD likely isn't big enough for Logos & all your other s/w. I've been eying them for a long time & when my current laptop goes out of warranty will likely punch it up by replacing its current hybrid hard drive with an SSD--but nothing smaller than 256GB. (I have 5,000+ resources; your mileage may vary.)
- There's no indication of a separate graphics processor with at least 1GB dedicated RAM. That means long reports will take even longer to process (see 1) & display (again, see 1).
Best of luck. Even better, God's blessings to you!
Grace & Peace,
Bill

It will probably run acceptably though I would recommend an I5 processor rather than an I3 and a 7200 rpm HD. I am now on my second laptop having given the first to my daughter and normally using a desktop (tower). I totally hate Windows 8, but what are you going to do since they will eventually quit supporting W7? I make it a practice to get a 17" screen so that I can have a full-sized keyboard

Joshua,
I haven't seen this tablet, but here are my random thoughts:
- It would certainly run Logos better than the Atom-based processor tablets you have considered in the past. The i3 processor, 8GB of RAM and combo SSD+HDD would run Logos well I would think. It has the same Intel integrated graphics as the Surface Pro, I believe.
- 13.3" for a tablet is huge. I read somewhere that the tablet part weighs 2.2 pounds, and with the keyboard attached weighs 4.9 pounds. The Surface Pro weighs 2.0 pounds. I have used a 11.6" tablet and think it's way too big, but this is a personal preference. It would be too bulky for me to comfortably sit in a chair and read on it.
- The screen resolution of 1366 x 768 is not that great for a 13.3" screen. The Surface Pro's resolution is 1920 x 1080.
- The touchscreen isn't a Wacom-based pen-centric touchscreen. I am not sure how touch-only would be in trying to manipulate the controls in the Logos desktop app. With a pen, it is pretty easy. I don't know how it would be with your finger. The same would go for highlighting. I am not sure how touch-only screens work with highlighting in the Logos desktop app. That's something to ask others who may have experience with it.
- I can't find any real-life battery tests on this yet. In its favor, the tablet has a battery in the tablet and the keyboard.
- I know you like tablets that run cool, but unfortunately I couldn't find any information on this.
We're rooting for you to find the right tablet for your needs and budget.

Mr. Anderson you are consistently a treasure and a blessing here...and have demonstrated real patience with all my silly posts too. God bless you for that. As for others who noted my sudden interest in dreaming about more expensive machines....I was curious and you all have sated my curiosity.
If I was to buy something - don't fall off your chairs - it would be the overpriced 128gb Surface Pro which I am hoping will refresh more cheaply, etc....
God bless all of you and your studies. I am too preoccupied with technology and NOT enough with the actual Word. Pray for me and God bless your day. With God's help I press on more focused on things that truly matter - (like the Daniel series I will deliver in October which I must ramp up while taking two classes in the Fall, being more spiritually disciplined about memorization and daily reading that doesn't consist of frequent visits to tablet sites).
I appreciate you all and see Jesus grace, kindness, love and patience in your replies.
May we all serve him well with Bibles open and on whatever "surface" or item we may be using.(I bought a Hardcover NKJV Evidence Bible to pour through to add to my paper Bible collections that need to be more used as well. I see Logos is offering it here soon too. http://www.logos.com/product/27304/the-evidence-bible-irrefutable-evidence-for-the-thinking-mind)
Blessings,
Joshua

This is a temptation that several of us fall prey to. I appreciate your tone in this thread.
Making Disciples! Logos Ecosystem = LogosMax on Microsoft Surface Pro 7 (Win11), Android app on tablet, FSB on iPhone & iPad mini, Proclaim (Proclaim Remote on Fire Tablet).

An i3 is a dog with fleas. Avoid it at any cost.
Reason: almost every motherboard and chip set that can support any given i3 processor can also support the i5 or i7 processors.
For any given i3 system, there should be a roughly equivalent system with a much better processor, for not a whole bunch more money [H]

+1 [Y] while personally waiting and watching for 4th Generation Intel Core i5 & i7 devices. Wonder about refurbished device(s) in a few months ?
Keep Smiling [:)]
