Important Information

  • While we will make every effort not to gratuitously delete user-created documents, future beta releases may not import documents created in Beta 1; do not use the software to store important data.

Features Missing from 3.0

The following major features in LDLS3 are not included in Logos 4 Beta 1 (and may not be in the final release of Logos 4)

  • Sentence Diagrammer
  • Personal Book Builder (creating or reading)
  • Sermon File
  • Applying visual markup to selected text
  • Graphical Query Editor
  • Remote Library Search
  • Bibliography
  • Weights and Measures

Known Issues

General

  1. You cannot execute a KeyLink from or select text in most of the reports, guides, search panels, etc.
  2. There are issues related to changing font size throughout the app.
  3. Any place that offers pronounciation currently hasn't been implemented in Beta 1 and may cause a crash.

Bible Word Study

  1. Hit counts in the “Textual Searches” section are incorrect.

Biblical Facts

  1. Information displays are incomplete for items in the Biblical People, Biblical Places, and Biblical Things tools
  2. Only a few maps are available in Biblical Places, and they are not fully functional

Copy Bible Verses

  1. Copy Bible Verses does not remember the selected style when the reference changes.

Editing

  1. Dragging an application hyperlink in an edit field crashes the app.

Exegetical Guide

  1. Changing settings while the guide is generating can crash the application.
  2. Word by word section only generates results for first verse of a range of references.
  3. The resource selection in the Word by Word section is not remembered (and there is no way to set a default).

Handouts

  1. Handouts documents are stored with large numbers of images, making the file size larger than necessary. Syncing handouts documents will take much longer than other document types. This has been changed for beta 2, but will require deleting all existing handouts documents.

Home Page

  1. The home page says, “Enter passage or topic”; only passages are supported.

 

Logging In and Launching Logos4

  1. The program may crash if your OS language setting is not English, this also includes the (separate) Date and Time language setting. Currently we have confirmed this for Czech and Chinese.

 

Performance

  1. Many application areas are unoptimized; seeing a “black screen” while reports are generating is not uncommon.
  2. Indexing takes a very long time.

Reading Plan

  1. If a reading plan is synchronized to a machine that is missing the plan’s resource, opening the plan will crash the application.

Resources

  1. Updated/missing resources are not yet automatically downloaded from the logos.com servers.
  2. The reverse interlinear pane does not track the active reference.

  1. Indexing must completely finish before you can search the library for the first time.
  2. Graph Bible Search Results do not match the results of the original search if “Match all word forms” is unchecked.
  3. Search may not respect/ignore Greek accents, Hebrew vowels appropriately.
  4. Searching all bibles for common terms can crash the app in certain views.
  5. Displaying search results from interlinear resources is slow. This particularly impacts Morph search results.
  6. Searches with many results may cause the result page selector to be clipped.
  7. Morph searching will return no results if the accents on the lemma are incorrect; the lemma helper in the Morph Search Panel suggests the wrong lemmas, but initiating the search from the context menu in a resource should work.

Synchronization

  1. The synchronization icon may always display the message "Items are waiting to be synchronized" instead of ever synchronizing; this is more likely to occur if your timezone is ahead of GMT.

Startup

  1. The startup screens have not been finalized (in terms of both workflow and art).

Visual Cue

  1. The visual cue may display in an unexpected location.

  1. The following features are missing final art:
    • Graph Bible Search Results
    • Passage Analysis
    • All printable items
    • All read-aloud features
    • Equivalent resources button
    • Reading Lists tool

    Bradley, it would be helpful if you would note the change-dates for the items on this page. At least when something is changed (deleted or added). That way, it would make it easier to recognize the updates to this page.
