Hi all,

I've tried doing a bit of research to find the answer myself, but to no avail... I now understand the principle behind what has gone into the Cascadia graphs of the New Testament, but I want to know what the asterixes represent?

Thank you.

    Hi Quintin.

The Cascadia Syntax Graphs are an application of (mostly, as I understand it) Head Driven Phrase Structure Grammar.

The asterisks denote the head of the containing structure. so, with the first np (reading from the left), it is the head of the P. The second np is the head of the np that contains two nps.

    Hope it helps.
