[BUG] Strange Analysis (Search results) output when searched for a phrase.

Hi.

I guess a picture is the best way to show this bug: I performed a simple Bible search for "sound mind", then clicked on Analysis. The problem is that each English hit appears twice - presumably because of the two words searched for. Each Greek language hit only appears once, I assume because it's one Greek word translated as "sound mind".

I don't think that's a bug....it's the nature of the search isn't it?

I agree it's annoying; I'd like to see the phrase "sound mind" treated as one unit, but I'm guessing that Logos would say...no bug exists....

It is interesting how "sound mind" is depicted wrt the (single) Greek word from which it is translated:-

                              2 Cor 5:13                                       2 Tim 1:7

ESV                right | σωφρονέω + mind                    self-control | σωφρονισμός

NKJV              of | σωφρονέω + sound mind            sound | σωφρονισμός + mind

Cambridge   sober | σωφρονέω                               sound | σωφρονισμός + mind

KJV                 sober | σωφρονέω                               sound | σωφρονισμός + mind

LEB                sound | σωφρονέω + mind                self-discipline | σωφρονισμός

NASB95        of | σωφρονέω + sound mind            discipline | σωφρονισμός

So the NKJV & NASB95 stand out for incorrect alignment because they imply that σωφρονέω is translated by "of"  ie. (σωφρονέω ANDEQUALS of) gives a result! In the NASB95 σωφρονέω is also translated "be", "have", "in"!

Elsewhere only (sound ANDEQUALS σωφρονισμός) gives a result because "mind" is not aligned with the lemma.

What the Analysis does is to successfully pull together "sound mind" with the lemma or Strong's number when the alignment would suggest it is only associated with "sound".

BUT there is a suggestion of duplicated results (4 x 2 Tim 1:7) for "The Ne..." and "The Ca..." bibles. What is their full name?

EDIT:

Now I'm in RC1 I can see that the issue with results from NKJV and Cambridge Paragraph bible is due to the assignment of two LN numbers to σωφρονισμός, which is unusual as I thought there would be only one context sensitive LN per word based on the philosophy of LGNTI. And LGNTI itself also has these two numbers!

I do think its a bug. By enclosing "sound mind" in quotation marks, he asked for a search using the phrase as a single lexical item.  Bad Bug ... Go Away Bug

If "sound" and "mind" were translated from two ancient words the analysis would have to show the derivation of each word on separate lines. But the alignment issues greatly concern me. Here is a search for "great one", with results in NASB95, Cambridge Paragraph, KJV 1900.

Here we see "Great" aligned with the definite article and H1419 in NASB95, and "one" also aligned with the article. I can't see that the alignment suggests the translation  is based on "the great+the one" when the Hebrew is "the great+one".

Search Analysis is (currently) designed to analyse individual text units (that are returned from the search), not to operate on hits as a whole.
