Organizing Bible verses with tags (like categories)?

I'm preparing a series on "The Work of the Holy Spirit," and obviously, there are a lot of verses to work through. I have several categories, or buckets, in my mind, such as:
- Old Testament
- Salvation
- Sanctification
- Fruit of the Spirit
- etc.
Is there a way to collect verses, in a Passage List or otherwise, and then "tag" those verses with the categories? For example, for one verse I might apply the tag OT, another might be applicable to both OT and SALVATION, etc.
Now that I see it, I'm talking about tagging verses exactly the way we can tag forum posts!
Thanks for the help!

Why don't you collect the verses in Passage Lists named after the categories? You can create a List from a Search and/or manually add verses, or add verses as per the Add menu. They can be sorted and the Merge menu will allow you to compare Lists.

Thanks, Dave. That's a workaround, but it doesn't make it easy to deal with verses in multiple categories. If you come across a verse that applies to three separate categories, you'd have to add it to three different Passage Lists. I do understand that that approach would work, but it's not the ideal I'm looking for.
As an example of tags, in Evernote I have a note that contains my notes from a meeting. That meeting might pertain to Sales, New Product Development, and the West Region. I don't want to have to have three copies of that note, so I apply those three tags to the one note. When I want to see all my notes pertaining to Sales, I select the Sales tag, and there it it.
I hope that explains what I'm looking for (which I realize probably doesn't exist)!

A couple more thoughts/workarounds:-
- add a Note by reference to a Note file for your Project and add "tags" to the Content section. The verse is made the title and you can search for content in the file with Ctrl+F. You have to be in a Bible or Commentary to create the "note" by reference, but you can create it manually with Add Note in the note file; or
- create a Clipping file for the project and add a verse by Reference from the context menu of a bible/commentary (you have to select some text).
Now you can add genuine tags and use Ctrl+F to find them. You can also use a Basic Search of My Content and restrict the search to "Tag" instead of "All Text". This is less useful, though, as you will quickly see!

Hi Mark,
I found this thread while looking for a way to tag Romans 5:14 regarding OT salvation; still no tags for verses it seems but this may be a good verse for your (now old) study
Romans 5:14 (NASB95)
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.
