Been awhile since I've seen a discussion of this, though I know it's a repetitive topic. I'd like to see some back issues come available...one of these years.
Yes. In addition I would love to be able to subscribe to only a digital version instead of paper.
Or, as I've suggested before, Logos could develop a "waiting room ship-to" policy if they are committed to sending out hard copies. If they would put together a list of doctor's and dentist's offices, they could send the dead tree issues to them and the purchaser could be satisfied with their digital version. I just don't want more stuff--it's part of the reason I buy digital.
I really enjoyed a couple of the articles in this month's issue (my first year subscribing) and I found myself wishing I could add the text of a few articles into my Logos to be able to search on. Alas, not possible. It really deflated the experience, and in fact it caused me to think that my time is better spent reading other electronic blogs, articles, etc. that I can pull notes from if I want to.
I am not saying this to be mean, just giving feedback - I do think I will not renew (this is my first year as a subscriber). Having a magazine focused on bible study, tips, techniques that I can't really REUSE the information on the platform I study from, is somewhat a waste of time.

My sentiments exactly.

I agree whole heartedly. This is precisely why I discontinued my subscription - rather strange for a software company to not be offering a digital version!
We offer BSM in print because it appeals to a slightly different audience our regular users. As John pointed out on this thread, we do have plans to make back issues available for Logos.
I know that's probably not the answer you were hoping for, but Noet, Mobile Ed, Book Cache, Product Rentals, Bible Screen, and a few new launches/innovations are soaking up the majority of our attention at the moment.
There's just more to do than we have personnel and resources to handle. That's why we're looking to add lots of great people to our team: logos.com/jobs
I fully understand the concept of hard copy...Bob explained this a few years back and I fully understand his motivation. I just feel like Logos could kill two birds with one stone if they implemented the kind of strategy I described above. If someone actually wants their paper version, fine, (freaks!), they can keep it, of course. But since most want digital only (and I think that is a well-worn fact by now), then Logos could send the paid-for subscriptions to professional offices as reading fodder. I bet anything that would eventually lead to new users. It could be handled one of two ways: 1) Logos could generate their own list of alternate addresses, or 2) prompt purchasing customers to provide their own. Also, if they don't have a problem with it, they could even play up the "buy digital for youself, give the hard copy as a gift" angle.
The point is to get the magazines (digital or analog) out there into hands that want to read them. The current m.o. actually seems to keep the magazines out of the hands that want to read them.
Anyway, I'm glad that BSM will be digital in the future.
I have been a subscriber to BSM from the beginning. I enjoy reading many of the articles but it's frustrating trying to refer to past issues and having piles of magazines around is creating a clutter issue for me. Since Logos doesn't seem prepared to offer digital subscriptions I'm feeling pressure to cancel my subscription.
The icing on the cake for me is that, if I do want to purchase back issues when they become available, I have to pay for them again. To me there should at least be some kind of discount available for those who are subscribers. I may have to be content to cancel my subscription and just order back issues but that is not what I want to do.

I too was a subscriber from the beginning....but last year I made the decision to not renew because I want it digital. The magazines were just stacking up, and not being read, because I spend the majority of my time studying or reading on the computer. Plus even if I read an article and discovered some interesting or important information, I won't remember later where I read it so that I could then retrieve it and use it in my teaching. So, it sort of defeats the purpose of really learning the material in the magazine.
Yes, I can understand having a hard copy. But you can have a hard copy, and allow the subscribers to have a digital copy as well. It doesn't defeat the purpose of getting "new clients" as you don't have to remove the hard copy, but it does just the opposite. New clients would be added and Logos will not lose the "old clients." Plus I would think more "new clients" would want the added digital version as well, once they understand what Logos offers. The digital copy really would enable one to become less of a "reader" and more of a "student" IMHO.
The real solution is for Logos to design the digital cover, so that when pastors put their iPads on their coffeetables in their offices, the magazine cover is correctly displayed.
Good one D.
