Can someone help me with how to run a bible word study for the name "Adam" in Logos.
I do not read Hebrew but I want use the Hebrew Bible and NKJV as sources.
Thanks
I don't quite know how to do it, but I do know what it means in Hebrew. If that will help.
What does that tell us?
Can someone help me with how to run a bible word study for the name "Adam" in Logos. I do not read Hebrew but I want use the Hebrew Bible and NKJV as sources. Thanks
To run a Bible Word Study, in the NKJV navigate to Genesis 2:21 (e.g.) and right click on the name "Adam." From the drop down list on the right side, make sure you select the lemma with more than one Hebrew letter (the second lemma). You don't need to read Hebrew to count letters, nor to see which lemma is the second one. Then from the left side, choose "Bible Word Study" (about 1/2 way down the list on the left).
In the Bible Word Study that pops up you will want to look at the "Translation" section and the "Root" section. Please know that not everything in the "Root" section will be directly relevant to your study.
If you have some Hebrew lexicons, you will also want to look at one or more of those. Don't worry that you can't read Hebrew.
However, if you just want to know the meaning of the name "Adam" you could also look him up in a Bible Dictionary, or via the "Person" section in the right click menu -> Bible Facts, and go down the list of Dictionaries you find there.
James seems very adament concerning his question. Seems like a diamond in the rough.
I am new to those things. So I am unsure of what that means.
I feel sure that was a pun of sorts.
It was a comment on the inclusion of 'adament' with a gloss of 'diamond' (literally rock-hard) in the BWS 'Adam' query. But the BWS did seem to introduce a pun: Adam did not seem so adament about following God's guidance!

Hi Lee,
I took a different tact by doing a basic search on adam NEAR clay. The most important data I will share below. Remembering that Adam was formed of the dust of the earth is my biblical justification for the Search.

Since this text is taken from the AYB and you may not own it I will paste the brief quote here
The Hebrew phrase, ʾadmat ʿāpār, is usually rendered as “the dust of the earth”; but the Hebrew word for “dust” or “fine ashes” is ʾeper, not ʿāpār, which, as used here and elsewhere, means “dirt, clay.” The present expression, ʾadmat ʿāpār, literally, “ground [or, earth] of clay,” is taken from Gen 3:19, where Adam is condemned to return to “the ground” (hāʾǎdāmāh) and to “clay” (ʿāpār), because his body had been molded by God out of “the clay from the ground” (ʿāpār min-hāʾădāmāh: Gen 2:7).

You can of course consult any of your favorite bibles with regards to your question including the Hebrew or NKJV.
I was going to offer the reading list option which includes the link http://www.abarim-publications.com/Meaning/Adam.html#.Uh5v8j90nbN but found a bug ... the link is good, however.
Thanks MJ
I did look at the Bible word study, and basic & bible search on Adam & dust. overall this did help.
Richard also thank you for your detailed help.
Beloved after looking into all the above I think that I have what I was looking for.
