Good thing you posted this. I ended up canceling my pre-pub since I already own the larger collection that contains it.
Looking forward to getting the update when it comes out.

You are much faster than my two fingered typing.
I had in for the Pre-Pub until I read what was in the box. I bought GH 1~3 and saved myself the $20 Community Pricing charge.
It makes me wonder if it was another brilliant sales ploy by Dan Pritchett. (That guy could sell me a cup of sand on the beach. [ip] )
NOTICE: No disrespect Dan. I love your sales!

I'm may be slow tonight but I'm failing to see the advantage for me to get this. I originally locked into The Theocratic Kingdom of Our Lord Jesus, the Christ (3 vols) when it was in Community Pricing for $20. I don't own either of the Goodly Heritage Libraries you mentioned. Are you recommending that I cancel my order and get the Goodly Heritage Library which will be like getting it for $20 less?

I was locked in on the $20 pre pub too. But the other works are filled with some gems too, so I decided to go with it. If my math is right, less than $2 a book.
PS The onslaught of downloads this month is a bit much, but that's not a bad thing. Really!

In a word, "Yes.
The Goodly Heritage shelves 1~3 are full of wonderful titles. The $72 price is already a 50% savings over the individual purchases. And if you own them you will get the upgraded Theocratic Kingdom when it ships next week.

For $22 more you get all three "shelves." They total $150 if you buy each separately.

it would only seem logical, wouldn't it?

I looked at the Theocratic Kingdom and it still says 2009. So I never got the promised update. I'll have to email Logos. They dropped the ball on this.

Be patient. The update was promised but the timing was not. I'm sure it will be coming.

I emailed them. Not a big deal that it trailed behind those who had it on their list.

I got a response this afternoon from customer service that they are updating accounts so it will download when complete. Not sure what all that entails on their end. Given all the stuff that Logos has in their inventory, I'm glad it's their responsibility.

Don't be too sure. Something funny is going on. The statement that the product is free to those that own the Goodly Heritage product has been removed between yesterday and today.
Unfortunately I owned the Goodly Heritage and had the order in for the Theocratic Kingdom also since it came from CP at $20. So I asked them to cancel the order which they did. Now I do not have the Theocratic Kingdom either since they removed it and it did not re-download and now the product makes no mention of the GOODLY HERITAGE..
What a mess!

I received the updated because I had preordered for $20 but after I received it, I noticed that I was to get the free update. I emailed customer service and they told me that my $20 would be credited to me in the next two weeks.
By the way, I notice a difference between the two resources. The Goodly Heritage Resource in my opinion seems more user friendly. in the left hand TOC, next to each proposition, they state what the proposition is. In the newer resource, this is not done.
I now have both the older and newer resource in my library and I am not sure what was done to make the newer resource better. For now, I am still using the older resource.

You may find like I did when they process the $20 cancellation, the new one relocks and disappears from your library.

When I ordered the Goodly Heritage Library yesterday the free update was still on the website. No update yet.

I just got off the phone with Customer Service and here is the low down on this "mess.":
There was a snag in the processing of the Pre-Pub for those that already have the resource in the Goodly Heritage shelves. Logos has identified the problem and is fixing it. The updated resource will be pushed to everyone who already has it in the Goodly Heritage collections as soon as they get the ducks in a row. Logos will honour their promise. The blurb has been removed from the product description page because the resource has now shipped. It is not an attempt to get out of the promise. Please be a little more patient and things will come through. [O]

They need to add one of those head-banging gifs to the smilies collection.

I was hoping for it again this morning during another update, but still not here.
Not a big deal, but it would be nice to be kept informed.

I just spoke with customer service. I should have the update by this weekend. They also said the update would replace the original.
0 -
The update just downloaded for me. I've been looking forward to this.
0 -
Do you have both versions or did the update replace the original?
0 -
I also got the download despite having already had it. I now have both versions on my computer. I have not checked whether I was credited for having purchased it when I already had it. But I still seem to prefer the Goodly Heritage product.

I have both now. The old one didn't go away. The new update comes as three separate resources, one for each volume -- whereas the Goodly Heritage version is one resource which includes the three volumes. Citations for them are different- update has Funk & Wagnalls 1884 which I prefer over Pleasant Places 2005.
The Pleasant Places offering is so loaded with spelling errors and other scanning glitches I considered it too inaccurate to read or cite without comparing it to my print copy. The newer release with its updated scan will remedy most of that, hopefully. I haven't had a chance to check.

We pushed the update for Theocratic Kingdom last night. If you owned it before, you should see an updated copy in your library now.
