I received EEC Song of Songs today. There is no Ecclesiastes. Is it supposed to have both in one volume.
However, there are two different authors, probably one for each book. Hopefully, the other will follow soon.
Will this be made available unbundled, like the other EEC resources so far I wonder?
Don't know if it will be broken up Don. Perhaps.
But, if I can do this without gloating,... W00T!
I've been enjoying each release in this series.
Yes [Y] Varner quickly became my primary commentary on James.
How does it compare to Moo and the new Blomberg volume in the ZECNT?

Don't have that one [:S]

High praise indeed. Whatever one might think of Moo, he writes pleasingly readable and informative commentaries.

I have the Eph and Gal volumes in this series. Still on the fence with them. They are innovative. However, a) the practical application sections are hit-and-miss or repetitive and b) some of the excursus sections have a nasty grey background in Logos that is jarring to the eyes. This seems like a series optimized for print (ironically).
From today's blog:
Song of Songs makes up half of the EEC volume on Ecclesiastes & Song of Songs. The Ecclesiastes portion, by Bob McCabe, is forthcoming. If you’ve purchased the EEC, you’ll receive Song of Songs automatically, with no additional purchase required.
Thanks.
Yes thanks. This is good to know.
I elected not to participate in the EEC, but Logos has done a tremendous job in getting these commentaries out as timely and on schedule as they can. That is good.
I am sure they are quality works and will be enjoyed by those who do purchase them.
I saw this today....http://www.logos.com/product/36149/ecclesiastes-and-song-of-songs-evangelical-exegetical-commentary
I can't find any others unbundled...
Sorry I found them....

I am doing the one month rental as a trial. The Song of Songs commentary is really good!
Do you have NICOT? I am wondering how these would stack up against that set. I have neither, but I have NICOT on the radar, but you can't buy individual books....
C'mon, can't someone put up a review? Deeply interested but wary of buying sight unseen. [:'(]
And, sorry, I think I'm judging a book by its (staid-looking) cover!

Geo has the right idea...renting it, I might do it.
I have NICOT. I have to admit that I have not read too much of it (I have preached mostly from the NT.)
Tremper Longman has done the Song of Songs volume in the NICOT. The EEC one is as good as the NICOT one (and different enough in viewpoint to have both. Garrett in the NAC is close behind so you will be spoiled if you have all 3, from an evangelical standpoint)
The volumes I have read in NICOT are easily recommended, so if it is on your radar, you should get it (probably during a sale.)

I haven't had time yet to check out the new EEC commentary, but I can vouch for all the other books released so far. They are very good and would help any preacher or academic student. I bought the series sight unseen, but that was a while back. I have been very pleased so far.
Anybody able to put up a screenshot of the layout?.... I know I could just rent it,....

Hi Mike,
I have just selected the screenshots below randomly. Let me know if you want to see anything specific.
