Ok.. So.. Why NFC?
Ok..I kind of understand NFC.. but seriously don't see any benefit for it being in the app as by the time you have turned NFC on walked across floor to person and kissed phones together to sync locations, you could have navigated to location yourself....
Obviously I am missing something here.. but seems like there are other more requested "useful" features that we are waiting on which are more useful..

I thought it meant they were going to provide scores for the Falcons, Packers and Redskins.

I suspect it was trivial to code in, provided a feature for the bullet list, and thus cost little in terms of developer time.
I have been wrong far too often to be certain of this though.

What is NFC?

NFC = near field communications.
It's a chip in side tables and smartphones that lets users instantly connect and transfer small amounts of data, like links to web pages, pictures, contact info and now Bible stuff via Logos.
Pretty cool!
To answer the first questions, I keep NFC running all the time. If someone else is like me, then we can bump with little effort and trade stuff. Not everyone turns it off to save battery.

This. [:)] An intern added the feature in one day. It's not the biggest, flashiest, or most necessary feature, but it adds a little bit of extra awesome to our apps.

Where would I find NFC in a droid phone?

The phone must be running Android 4.0 or higher. You can check if your phone has NFC (and if it's enabled) by going to Settings -> More (under Wireless & Networks) -> NFC
You'll need to turn on both the NFC and the Android Beam options. If you don't see those choices, your phone probably doesn't have NFC support (not all do, even those above 4.0)

As Drew mentioned this was a small task we assigned to an intern shortly before their internship ended.
It is actually pretty cool to be able to beam your current bible or other resource location to another device. It's worked well for me in church and small group environments to quickly get someone else to the same place I'm reading AND it's a feature you'll never see on an iOS device. bragging rights! [:D]

Until the iPhone 5S comes out that is ... maybe! Or iPhone 6, 7 or 8WTSL (what took so long) [:D]

Now that would be nice.. was thinking of that while I was at work today..
In future Using NFC to allow a friend to borrow a resource would be great (you would not have access while it was loaned) it has potential
