Source for Cross References?

What is the source for the list of cross-references shown on the right side of this Guide section? And then how does it choose which ones to display in full text on the left side? Inquiring minds want to know . . . (or perhaps indeed such knowledge is too wonderful for me!)

Well, that was fun! [;)] Seriously, thank you for the link to an interesting thread I doubt I would have found otherwise. I'm so grateful for you programming-savvy users who investigate these kinds of questions!

What I gathered is that the list is generated from the cross-references offered by the licensed publishers of a few English translations (that all happen to be popular with US Christians of an evangelical bent). The bolded references were identified by a frequency-based ranking algorithm. How the list of bolded references is further pruned to the references displayed in full-text is not yet revealed. Is this correct, as far as I understand it?
