mine projected 10 hours when I merged indices and it only tool 5
Mine took most of the day. Certainly not as fast as the last time I did it, which was about six hours. Ho hum!
How long does the windows L4 take?
On Fusion (XP Pro), I've done it in about six hours tops. Just had to do it yesterday in fact due to a bug with merging my indexes.
With Parallels 5 and XP Pro, I did a complete download and index overnight. I started it about 10PM and it was completed before I got back to the computer at 5:30.
A couple of quick thoughts:
1) The "old days" was more like 60+ hours of indexing, so while 11 hours is still a long time, it's not as bad as before Alpha 5 Update when it took an entire weekend to index.
2) Despite our best efforts, the "time remaining" estimates continue to be consistently high. For instance, when I indexed my Macbook (full Platinum), it took around 15 hours but the estimates were consistently high by 25-30%.
