I am considering switching from a Windows based computer to a Mac. Will my current version of Logos 5 run on the Mac or do I need to purchase a Mac compatible version of Logos?
You just need the free Logos for Mac programme available from Logos.
This is a relatively small download, log in to your Logos account from within the programme and all the resources you have licences for will download to your Mac, (including notes, layouts, highlighting etc)
Wait for indexing to complete and you're done.
Your licenses go with you, regardless of device. You can use Logos on a Windows machine and a Mac, if you want, along side an Android tablet and and iPhone (or an iPad and an Android phone - or whatever combination). You can even use them on more than one device at once. The EULA limits to one person, but as many devices as you want.
One of the things that keeps me from considering a Mac are the problems reported by Logos users who use them. So far the Windows version has been much more bug free than the Mac versions. While Logos has made huge strides toward parity, they aren't there yet.
IMHO, if you are a heavy Logos user, I'd stick with a Windows machine. If you're an occasional Logos user, you may still want to, unless there's something on the Mac side that you really want.

Observation: a number of weekly sermons and studies are prepared using Logos on Mac.
Logos 5 on Windows and OS X can have puzzling crashes. Thankful for option to contact Logos Tech Support.

Logos 5 for Mac brought tremendous improvement. There are some issues still, but the users reporting problems appear to be in the minority. The only real problem I have had for months are an occasional freeze when attempting to quit Logos, which can be eliminated with a simple force quit.
IMHO, if you are a heavy Logos user, I'd stick with a Windows machine.
As a heavy Logos for Mac user, I disagree, respectfully or course [:D].
My 2 cents - I use Logos 5 on Mac and have no issues other than there is a slight lag when first clicking on the Documents, Guides, or Tools menu items, and an occasional freeze when exiting the program. Otherwise, the program is stable and the advantages of using a Mac far out way these small inconveniences.
I am a former windows user and long time PC tech/Network engineer, now a contented Mac user for almost 5 years. There are a lot of things to consider when switching from PC to Mac, but i believe that Logos does not need to be a matter of concern in those calculations.
Like another comment previously, I would strongly disagree with this opinion. I would consider my self a heavy user of Logos and have been for a very long time. Logos on Mac (L5M) meets all my study needs easily. Now to be fair, the Windows version does perform marginally better than the Mac version. My understanding which may be flawed, is that this is due to a conversion/translation layer that is used on the Mac side so Logos can maintain one code base for the core program and data. For me this is noticeable primarily when I have 3+ resources linked so that they scroll together, and in clause diagram resources. In those instances L5W is definitely snappier performance than L5M. But for me at least it is not so much so that I want to keep dealing with Windows.
