I'm unable to reproduce that behavior using Chrome on Mac OS X. What browser and operating system are you using?

I can't replicate either (IE 9 on Win7) - but I wonder about your screenshot. When I enter text into the search box, the site tries to match as I type i.e. I don't see the magnifying class with text in the box. Even with pasted text, it changes to the x symbol.

Can it be that the site's functionality requires Java, Flash or anything else allowed that was recently changed in your browser's security/privacy settings or your antivirus?

It doesn't try to match the text I type in. JS is enables, I have the current Adobe Flash installed and Java 7 update 25 plus JavaFX 2.1.1

    Firefox 23.0.1

I just check and it does work in IE. It must be a Firefox issue.

    Firefox 23.0.1

any adblockers or so? More than once i happened to run accross people in the 'web that are proud that Firefox and its addins take away all those ads, popups and other seemingly unwanted stuff, just to realize that some of the same technology they block is needed for interactive websites to work.

It's fixed. Sorry everyone. Firefox had an update I missed. 24.0

    EDIT:

Upon further checking I see that my ad blocker was reset to allow all. So it was more than likely what NB said.[Y]
