e-reading tablet recommendations

For those of us who would like to read extensively in Logos on a tablet but do not want the limitations of a Kindle, what have users found to be the best reading experience? I am asking primarily about the screen here (not weight or dimensions); things like glare, brightness, direct sunlight experience. But also, as a current Android user I am curious to know from those who have used the app in IOS as well whether the layout, fonts, margins provide a more comfortable feel in one or the other OS.

I honestly can't say enough good things about the Nook HD+. It's $150 right now for a 9" 1080p screen. It's a bit slow if you stick with the stock rom, but easily flashed to a jellybean rom.

has a great screen, light to hold, soft touch back. The screen is a bit reflective, but is very bright and clear and usable outdoors with max brightness.
