Custom Text - disappears when changing background

I am aware that this topic was address back in September of 2012 with Logos responding that they were meeting on how to handle this.  It's a year later and nothing has changed.  I would like to know if this has been discussed and if this obvious limitation will be addressed?  I love using custom fields as the full-range of text formatting (shadow, outline, etc.) is available.  However, when I change the background, the custom text immediately disappears and must be re-added and formatted. This is a glaring issue for many of us.  Will this be addressed soon? (As well as text wrapping in content slides and full-text formatting like in the custom fields?)

We have spec for preserving customizations across background changes. I can't say when it will ship but it's on the list.

We are actively working on slide rendering to provide greater flexibility with stylized text and wrapping.
