Heres an intteresting question, well to me I think it is:

Rejoice Christian Software and a few others are always offering discounted Books and Collections for Libronix.

Now are these offerings based on the New L4 engine and should we as users take advantage of the lower costs, or should we as L4 users not consider the offerings?

They're slightly fiddly to install now, but they'll work in Logos 4 no problem. They'll be even more sales I should think, as Logos moves away from retail distribution.

I think you're free to get those titles from wherever you want that has the best price, knowing that Logos must have licensed the content from the publishers but didn't gain exclusive right to sell them. However it would be best to do so without making much noise about it here, since this is the Logos forum after all. You were right not to provide a link here to the competitor. However, if more Bible reference material gets sold and more people are digging into the Word, I'm sure the folks at Logos will be happy regardless of who gets the dollars.

I believe that you really missed what i was asking.

NO. I was not pointing others to software; YES, i was asking if whether this other source(s) were L4 compatable software;

that may or not come directly from Logos. Yet i believe that there was a brief mention in this thread that should a third party be invloved, then there is a great percentage that it was known by Logos............sorry i was more clearer.

I really don't have a problem with postings referring to sales on Libronix titles from other distributors. All of these titles are ones produced by third parties who license Logos technology (and I'm guessing Logos makes a percentage on every item sold). Logos does not always carry every item (an example would be some of the packages produced by Northwestern Publishing House).

Further, as an example, the initial price for the Tyndale Commentary set was considerably higher on logos.com until someone posted the price for the product from Rejoice.... We all benefited from this... I waited to see whether Logos would reduce their price and, when they did, I made my purchase order through them (I would have otherwise sent my money elsewhere).

This is a very different issue to advocating the purchase of a product for eSword or BW or Accordance where no money ends up in Logos' pocket and where no brand loyalty is built up.
