Indexing after each update is very frustrating (Windows)

My laptop takes up to 15 hours to complete indexing after each small update to the program. Not having this problem on my desktop since it is always on and has a faster CPU. How do I stop my computer from downloading updates without my permission? I would like to only do this once or twice a year rather than seemingly every week. I often close my computer to take it home which makes the indexing start all over again

You can turn off automatic updates in the settings area. You can then update by command in the command box at your leisure.

There has been a rash of such user reports lately. May I suggest that Logos techs follow up directly with such users and get to the bottom of any pattern or bug.

Indexing isn't typically needed for updates to the program… Indexing is required, however, for resource updates. Recently there have been several VERY large updates.
It would be helpful to know more about your situation. Can you tell us your specs? What about your OS? What version of Logos? How large is your library? If something abnormal is going on, you would also need to provide logs. If you are running on mac, you can learn more via the link in my signature line.

I guess you didn't read the heading too well?
(Which is good for me; I needed the laugh.

Nope.

In my defense, I open 6 different sub-forums at a time. I click on the threads of interest and then move between tabs. The only time I read the title is when I am originally opening the tabs, which there may be as many as 10 or more.
