I'm on the ESV Bible on my iPad and I can't find the option for turning off lines in the interlinear. Where in the world is this setting.

    Hi Mike

I'm on the ESV Bible on my iPad and I can't find the option for turning off lines in the interlinear. Where in the world is this setting.

this only works for interlinears, not resources which include reverse interlinears - but it would be a nice addition!

I'm confused by one of the two of you, but I don't know which one. [:P]

Mike— Are you saying that you are using the normal ESV bible resource, and you ARE seeing the interlinear lines below the English text?

    Good spot.

I read Mike's post to - effectively - say that he couldn't work out how to turn the interlinear lines on! I could have been mistaken[:$]

No, I was talking about the interlinear pop-up when you touch and hold a word and pick look up. I was thinking you could change the lines that show up in the pop-up. I hope I'm being a little more clear.

It's the "inline" interlinear display (multiple lines on the screen at the same time) rather than the popups that you can now control from the Aa menu. So, this affects interlinears rather than reverse interlinears.

I didn't do a bug report since maybe the design.

But LEB responds to speak aloud off-line but no sound. I assume its on-line only but controls act as if working.

    Hi Denise,

If you want the LEB audio to work offline you'll need to download the media first; view the Info panel for the LEB and you'll see a "Media Downloads" link - tap it to download individual chapters or the entire new testament.

NOTE: The downloads are VERY large files. Downloading a small portion is one thing… downloading the entire bible, quite another!

    Hi Bill,

I wrote up a case for this a while back but don't have an ETA.

Peace, Kevin!              Thank you for all you do for us!             Appreciated indeed!                   I use an iPad2 with all 4 Apps for different projects -- I am using these on a daily basis!             *smile*                             The ability to access my extremely large library is wonderful    !!!!!!!!!

However, what I do need             -- not being young anymore -- and sometimes technically "challenged" .............         is

All this information in one source ...           I'd like very much to be able to study all the various things that these 4 apps do ...    the "ins and outs"          ...      the "hows" and the "whys"              ...       last night I was a little confused by the main screen in Bible ...         how does one do various things???

Where can I go to view (and even download!)           ...     a comprehensive picture of what we do have ...

please!                Even if someone just had a Word Document I could study ....              and keep up on my own --    and even share with others ...                  can you, Kevin?         or someone?            get me started?

    Hi Milford,

Generally speaking, the Logos Bible app contains nearly every feature available in each of the other apps.  Vyrso (for example) doesn't have Text Comparison, Bible Word Study, Passage Guide, Proclaim signals, Faithlife Groups, Word Lookup, etc. whereas the Logos app has all of those.

We have some training videos available at https://www.youtube.com/logosbiblesoftware that might help, and you have any specific questions these forums are a good place to ask.

Peace, Kevin!           I was just over there and cannot find a training video that will give me a simple rundown of what the various apps will do and how to do it ..

even your release notes are not clear on the "how" to do some of these things  ...

of course, eventually I will pick them up - the "ins" and "outs,"  that is ...              but, I remain frustrated that there is simply no overview of the basic functions of the apps ...

I've been a Logos fan for many a year, but this is indeed a "glaring weakness"!

I've had my iPad2 for almost two years now, and I'm still rejoicing in the serendipity things rather than tackling my usage head on ...

If I'm not looking in the right place for an appropriate training video on how to use the 4 Logos apps on the iPad, please give me the location ...                   I will rejoice          ...........                   and I'll go there and study the material so I don't have to come here and beg for something I should have ..                Blessings, Kevin.         but        I do remain frustrated ....

Now I'm starting to talk to myself ....

I say to myself, "Even a simple page or two on Wiki.Logos.com would be sufficient for my needs of quickly overviewing the functions of Logos' four Apps!"

I don't want to get to the position in life where I will answer myself when I begin to talk to myself!            *smile*

    Edit!

Wrote that about an hour ago!              Am still talking to myself .........               It's just past 9:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time here in Eastern Canada, and I'm retiring from my study for the evening ...

........    heading to a different room where I will "fire up" my iPad2, and will be using all four of the Logos Apps for which "I am truly grateful, eh???!!!"                      *smile*

Milford- there doesn't exist what you are looking for. I started working on a project for the wiki during the launch of the 2.x builds, but learning to edit wiki pages was more frustrating than I anticipated. [:s]

    Interlinear control is nice. Thanks!

When I first updated the app, at least one interlinear resource didn't behave perfectly. After choosing which line(s) I wanted on/off, I had to flick the master 'inline' to off and back to on before the changes would take effect. It was a simple fix ... and now I can't even replicate the issue.

Dear Brother!         *smile*                       I hear you!              I understand you!              Thanks for your comment!                     You -- above anyone else! -- have been helpful to me over the last couple of years in my use of my iPad, and I am truly grateful...

what I was desiring isn't that complicated, I would think ...                 also, as my skills improve - I less and less need that kind of a "boost" as the days go by ...

Meanwhile I think of you and your family and often ask our Gracious God and Father to protect you and Bless you all (!) - with whatever He has in store for you ...   "11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare2 and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. 13 zYou will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, declares the Lord, band I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you ... "

Peace and Every Blessing, Kevin!           *smile*                           As I leave this thread, I absolutely want to make clear that I thank God for you -- for the great work you have done for Him - for Logos! - for me and other users of the Logos Apps ...

Thank you very much for your hard work and dedicated efforts!                                    Indeed!           *smile*

I've become quite aware that what I want (and actually "need" less and less!) is NOT one of your responsibilities!

Logos actually has four different Apps, each filling a special niche is my needs and usage, and if there is no detailed list of usage instructions, well, so be it!                      I am grateful!                             Please forgive me for being a bit "snarky" last evening!

On wiki I got trained by the best .... Steve.  But as I was making a fool of myself, I couldn't help but feel the laughter all the way from northern Texas.

The problem with wiki's by users is that it really demands a full-time-ish effort .... they age quickly.   The forum really is the better choice, what with random comments, some correct, some confusing, searches that don't work well, and so forth.  It's what our pastor calls 'sand paper' .... sanding off common sense.  (Ok ... he didn't say the last part)
