Logos 5 Manuals

There's a sale on the Logos 5 manuals. Wondering if anyone who has bought and used them could give some of us an opinion. I've never been able to do one of the seminars, but I think this might be enough help in the right direction.

I don't have the L5 manuals. I bought the L4 manuals. While they were very helpful, they didn't last long enough (i.e. L5 came along) for what they cost. With L5 being as old as it is (in relative terms...software years makes dog years look like aeons), I'd hesitate to buy them for much more than a few dollars each unless you didn't have any other way to get started with the software.

I was able to sell my L4 manuals (set of two) for ten bucks to an L4 user who didnt' plan to upgrade. You might be able to find an L5 user in the same situation and lower your overall cost. If so, then you could raise the price you'd be willing to pay a bit.

As for the utility of the manuals: given a big assumption, that they are very much like the L4 manuals, then they are pretty useful in that they cover most everything. There are a few spots that won't make sense without some video tutorial explanation, but for the most part, they do what they are supposed to do, especially for someone from the paper-manual generation like me. A twenty-something who's never taken a manual out of a box of disks might not find it quite as useful.
