Image Quality in Logos 5

I am very disappointed by the quality of some/many of the images in Logos 5.

For example in the just released Teach the Text Commentary on 1 & 2 Samuel, the map image on p.28 is so poor as to be illegible - when exported to PP it is even more woeful!

I find it hard to believe that the original image in the printed volume is as bad as it appears on screen.

Is it something to do with low quality scanning by Logos?? I would be grateful for better image quality over all in Logos 5. Good image quality greatly increases the impact of the written text.

Any chance of improvement in this area?

Well, when I found a poor img from Holman Illustrate Bible (the Timeline specifically), was corrected. For sure help is on the way

You're right - that's an incredibly poor image. With this book, I think Logos received electronic files from the publisher, which they then edited. It looks as though the image in question was missing, and all we've got is a low resolution thumbnail. I've reported it as a 'typo', perhaps you could do the same. But it's not the only image with that problem. It shouldn't have passed quality control, in my view. For what it's worth, the maps in the Job and Romans commentaries are much better.

Of course, some older resources also have low resolution images. Occasionally these are re-done, but often it's just a sign of the times, as it were.

That's correct. Unfortunately, we couldn’t obtain a better map image for this resource. If we get a hold of better quality images in the future, we’ll make sure to update this resource to include them.

I just got word today that an update is pending. We should have it in our libraries in the next couple weeks. The holiday may slow it down a little, but it's on the way.
