I've spent some time trying to compare other resources that Logos carries by Josephus with this new Community Pricing resource - https://www.logos.com/product/36597/select-works-of-josephus
Any help would be appreciated.
First, it's by Loeb. Even if you have something already, you don't have it in Loeb.
Thanks, but that makes no practical difference in my mind.
The Whiston translation includes all in the Loeb edition which is in Community Pricing, plus Antiquities of the Jews which is missing from the Loeb edition.
Logos also offers a collection which includes a newer translation of Antiquities of the Jews along with a commentary. The three volumes are available individually, as well.
Logos offers the Neise edition of the Greek text of the 3 works covered by Whiston.
By the way, I couldn't comment on the value of the Loeb translation, except to say that I think for someone doing serious work in Josephus having the Greek text and a more recent translation would be pretty important.
Hey Bruce,
You don't state what your interest is, but for me my purpose is a desire to make a devotional study of Christ's image in the feasts of Israel and there importance to prophecy. Therefore I find no reason for interest in the CP, but instead I have my eye on the Brill Josephus and the Bible Collection.
By acquiring this resource I intend to inform myself of the original language resources that I may examine. I am interested in your interests in Josephus and the direction your headed in your studies.
Edit: I forgot to give the link to the resource I cited here it is https://www.logos.com/product/6878/brill-josephus-and-the-bible-collection

Thanks Beloved for your explanation of why you want the Brill Josephus collection. Personally I have several Josephus resources and was just interested in a general way. I've studied Josephus a bit but not in great detail and I think I'd like to go deeper. I'm just exploring my options and wanted to know how the Loeb Josephus is different.

I have Whiston's unabridged Works of Josephus which covers the Jewish Wars, The Antiquities of the Jews and The Life Against Apion etc. therefore it covers the material presented in the CP and is $15.95. https://www.logos.com/product/154/the-works-of-josephus The translator of the CP resources is the respected grammarian H St J Thackeray. His work is incomplete due to an untimely death in his early 60s. If you put Josephus into a search on the Logos site you will find a goodly selection of resources depending on the direction of your needs.
