Hyperlinked footnotes

I am studying through commentaries and journals and would find it very helpful the authors footnotes were linked to their original source if found in my library. I thought I have seen this done in some of my resources in the past. Is there something I'm missing in the journals, or are there plans of hyperlinking the footnotes int he future?

When Logos books are published, all the references to other Logos books should be added. They can't, of course, add hyperlinks to books that aren't available in Logos.

The problem occurs when, in the future, a book is published that is referenced in books that have been in Logos for a long time. Logos don't go back and add in those hyperlinks (except on rare occasions for very important and popular books). So most of the time you should find most of the references hyperlinked. But if you're reading a book that's been in Logos a long time, it will be missing links to newer Logos resources.

Thank you for the replay, Mark. In the theological journal collections I have not come across any hyperlinked footnotes even when the footnote is a reference to another journal I guess I will have to wait and see if Logos updates the journal's footnotes. Thanks again!

You're right, I've not noticed that before. The Theological Journal Libraries are one of the resources that are produced by a third-party, rather than by Logos (nowadays Logos produces/updates all resources itself). As a result, the third-party (Galaxie Software) is responsible for tagging and updates (they never do the latter). One of the reasons why Logos brought all this work in-house was to ensure that standards were applied consistently across resources, as third-party tagging was often inferior to Logos tagging. (Compare the tagging in the Logos-produced Themelios and JBL, for instance.)
