Is there a way on desktop Logos to scroll partway through a page like you can on iPad? I find myself trying to copy a section of text of a commentary in multiple column format, and all I can do is go "full page" to "full page."
Hi Fred
If you set "columns" to "none" for the resource (click top-left icon at the top of the tab) you will be able to scroll up and down the resource,
Graham
Graham,
I understand that. I am looking for a "less clunky" solution. On my iPad, I can just two finger scroll. It is very clunky to have to switch the reading view, then scroll, then switch back. It can even be hard to keep your place on the page.
Isn't there a way to partially scroll in column view? If not, there should be (just like on iOS).

No. The only way is to move to zero columns. Is there a reason you don't want to do that?
Yes. Of course I can do that, but requires a bunch of extra clicks, changes the view interface, makes me lose my place in the book (when what I am trying to do is find my place and highlight or copy continuous text), and then I have to switch back to column reading. It is not a smooth process - which is one reason I believe that the iOS version changed that.
My point would be, if it is possible to do in iOS, why can't it be done in the desktop version.
The crux of my question lies here:
then I have to switch back to column reading.
If you want to scroll, why are you switching back to column view?
I don't know. I do know that the current behavior in the iOS apps was described as a temporary measure until "true scrolling" could be implemented.

Let me be more clear. I am reading a resource in column view (Auto column numbers). I do that because it is easier to read that way. Logos knows that - it was the reason they introduced column view. I come across a section I want to copy and paste into a Word document for later, or I want to highlight across "Logos pages." (By "Logos pages" I mean what Logos shows in a given window in column view.) That is all I want to do. As soon as I am done doing that, I want to keep reading - in column view. Hence, I switch back to column view.
As I understand it now, there is no way to highlight across "Logos pages" in column view, or to select text across "Logos pages." There is also no way to control where the Logos page breaks. So to do something relatively simple like highlight a sentence that goes across a page, I need to either switch back and forth from column view, or abandon column view altogether. That seems ridiculous, especially since there IS a workaround for this in iOS.
Maybe I am missing something, because this seems like an incredibly basic need, and I can't imagine why Logos does not have a way to deal with this beyond a very clunky workaround of switching back and forth between views.
People have found a way to copy across page boundaries - http://community.logos.com/forums/t/29441.aspx is an example.
I'm not at my computer at the moment so I can't verify, but hope you find this useful.
Hey, Graham! Thanks for that link! Very Clever Tips there! Am grateful! *smile*
I wonder why it's locked???

That does work, and is a far better workaround than I had been using. Thanks! If there are other workarounds people know of, please tell!
Hi Milford
The old "PC Beta" forum was locked when Logos started the "Logos Desktop Beta" forum for combined Windows and Mac releases.
