We have a case for this already, but thanks for the report. Unfortunately the behavior seems to vary with each version of Android (and it seems more likely to misbehave with newer versions of Android). We haven't yet been able to track down what's causing the problem, but it is on our radar.
On my Samsung Galaxy Express, Android v4.1.2 it works one out of 5 times I see the icon flash red!
