Feedback on "Smart" Selections

I find this feature to be irritating more than helpful. Even if I've carefully selected text (STARTING with a right click & extending it), it STILL changes my selection to something different.

I'm happy with JUST the word being selected. Don't need more & would like the option to turn this feature OFF if it's implemented anyway. :-)

It can be enabled / disabled from Program Settings - "Smart Text Selection" option.

Right click over a word. Only the word is selected, more or less standard in Windows apps.
On production L5 (plus in Word, etc.,---also more or less standard in Windows), hold shift key down & then left click on end of desired selection; selection is extended to desired point.

However, Logos smart select changes the both the beginning & the end of the what I've selected to correspond to something else (since prior behavior worked as expected, I've been assuming that smart select change the behavior in this beta).

Hmmmmm..... just checked, & it's ALREADY turned off. In that case, selection certainly isn't working as I expected!

I can reproduce the problem with Smart Selection turned ON in Program Settings, but I can't reproduce it when Smart Selection is turned OFF.

Are you saying that it occurs for you no matter what Smart Selection is set to in Program Settings?

With that and normal selection of multiple words I don't see the value of 'smart selection'. Also not a smart move with feelings about continual indexing.

I'm not participating in beta this go around, but "smart selection" doesn't seem to be a feature I would want or use... Unless I am missing something.
