Verse Copy Syntax

Does anyone have any other information?

I would like to paste verses with the verse numbers included. The only way I see to do that now is with the "%CopyAllText" which also copies heading which I do not want to paste.

For example this is what I am getting:

“The Word of Life 1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—” (1 John 1:1, ESV)

This is what I want:

“1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—” (1 John 1:1, ESV)

Also, it would be nice to format the verse numbers so they appeared in superscript.

Try building this style in the CBV tool. It is not exactly the way you wanted it. But its as close as I could figure out so far.

EDIT: Here is the same custom syntax as above; but with verse numbers in superscript.

Thank you both so much. I was able to format it just as I wanted thanks to your examples.

Here is my final product:

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— ² the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us— ³ that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. (1 John 1:1–3, ESV)

Does anyone know why the verse would paste differently when using smart tags in WORD? If I click copy on the Logos "copy Bible verses" tool, then it pastes into WORD exactly as I expected. But if I click the smart tag menu above the reference in WORD and select "replace with passage" I loose the superscript and bold of the verse numbers.

I can reproduce this problem. It looks a like a bug to me.

The simple way to do this might just be to delete that one verse number in the document once the passage has been copied and pasted into the document?
