I've had the Install or Indexing icon in my upper right frame for weeks. When I put the curser over it to see the progress it only has a pinwheel.
Well that's not right.
Can you exit the install, restart your computer and try again? Try that first, as something that simple can be all that it takes.
If that doesn't work we'll need more info: platform, OS, amount of free disk space, etc. It will also help to see some logs (see here for how to do that; info on how to upload logs to these forums are here).
