Classic Sermons On...

Apparently this series by Warren Wiersbe isn't on Logos (at least I couldn't find it), but it looks like it is something he compiled along the lines of what Logos did with its Classic Commentaries--a compilation collection of PD resources. I'd like to see this offered by Logos.

In case the link doesn't work (I got chicken scratch), I have included this screenshot.

Notice that 3 of the 4 items are no longer available thru CBD. Logos might be able to swing a good deal for us! [:)]

Years ago a few of us asked for this series in Logos format to strengthen Logos' sermon offerings. There are a bunch of these. This sort of thing was one of Wiersbe's strengths: other preachers and their preaching. Highly recommend Logos see if they can publish all the ones he did.

There may have been others I missed, I just found this list and did not have it when I made my purchase. I am not at home so I cannot check to see what is in my paper book collection. Thanks, Floyd. This seems like a slam dunk choice for Logos. Logos should be able to negotiate an awesome deal on these, especially since they are both public domain AND essentially in the electronic cut-out bin. [Y]

Actually I believe there were more. At one time there was a 33 volume set of these sermons. I have one entitled Classic Sermons on the Birth of Christ (or something close to that (don't have it on my shelf right now)).

BTW: an Amazon search indicates that Kregel was the last company to publish these. I don't know who might have been the original publisher, perhaps Moody.

With this sort of thing, it's best to contact both Logos (this forum is one way to do that, suggest@logos.com is another), and the publisher. It sometimes takes some research to find out who the most recent publisher and/or copyright holder is, but contacting both (and asking others to join you in doing so) is the best way to move things forward.

Don't expect a response from Logos or the publisher, but don't interpret a lack of response as inattention either. Many times these deals involve complexities that preclude making any part of the process public until complete. Personally, I wish that a simple, non-commital acknowledgement came with such requests (e.g., "Thank you for making this suggestion. Your suggestion has been forwarded to the appropriate department."), but too often they don't.

So, to the Logos employee who sees this thread and forwards the suggestion, would you be so gracious as to acknowledge that the suggestion has been noted? Doing so encourages us to keep suggesting resources that would be meaningful to us. Thanks!
