Logos for Mac throwing a tantrum on updating

This morning I noticed that there are some updates that have not downloaded, so I ran the command 'update now'. Much later, it is still running... the fans in my mac are running and Logos is using 75% of the CPU when I am doing nothing but let it run in the background to run the check.

Any suggestions? Failing any technical answers, should it put Logos for Mac in the corner for a time out until it shapes up?

Kill Logos, reboot your Mac and start Logos with Command key (to get logs). If it still hangs then upload the logs (especially Logos.log).
