Searching Entire Library

I have a few Sermon Series: John Piper, MacArthur, and Spurgeon. When I do a search through my entire library for a passage, they don't come up.

If I open the Source I see where Piper preached on say John 15:1-8, but it does not register when I search that passage.

What can I do?

If you're referring to the passage guide, then the passage guide only displays commentaries and bible study notes (not sermons). Because of that, I have created indexes for Spurgeon's and Keller's sermons, so that the index displays in the passage guide. There's no index available for Piper currently though, and I'm not aware of MacArthur's sermons in Logos.

How are you doing your search through the entire Library? Here's the syntax to search for places where a passage is mentioned (in the Basic search tab):

<John 15:1-8>

That will find any references that include or overlap that verse range. If you want only those places that mention exactly that range, use this instead:

<=John 15:1-8>

Brian,

Here's what works for me and requires the least amount of work:

1. Create a collection that contains only sermon resources

2. Create a Custom Passage Guide and edit it ( See http://wiki.logos.com/Building_a_Custom_Guide_Example) to include your sermon collection

3. Click on the Guides menu item, select your sermon passage guide that you just created, enter the passage you want to search on. Done!
