Lost Bible

I will admit that I rarely use my free LOGOS, but I was surprised when I opened it up today and could not find a Bible text anywhere. I have all the helps, but no text. I called and was sent an email with ideas to try to fix it, to no avail. Where in the world is my Bible? Oh, I should mention that where is says to "Choose Preferred Bible" my page is blank.

You haven't mentioned what was suggested, so you will probably have tried to update resources by typing update resources in the Command Box at the top of the screen.

Also, try to update your software:-

http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/Installer/Logos4Setup.exe for Logos 4; or
http://downloads.logos.com/LBS5/Installer/LogosSetup.exe if you are on Vista SP2 or Windows 7/8 (free upgrade to Logos 5).

I'm sorry you're having trouble. Dave's given you some great advice. Start by making sure your software is up to date. Then let's try typing the three or four letter abbreviation of your favorite bible into the command box (e. g. "ESV").

You're right, I tried typing "update resources" into the Command Box and it did nothing except tell me there were no updates available. I followed your advice and did the free upgrade to Logos 5 and still do not have any Bibles to choose from. I have even rebooted my computer.

Looking at your account, it appears you only own a handful of books and no Logos version Bibles. The Lexham English Bible is available for free. You can download it on Logos.com.

I have now "purchased" the Lexham English Bible, but I am still confused. When I first got Logos it was because of the Faithlife Study Bible and I did have a translation of the Bible to use. I guess I don't understand where it went or was it a figment of my imagination?

depending on where you looked at it, it may well be that you had a couple of bible translations - some are licenced to Logos for free viewing on the internet or on mobile devices, but allow no download and thus no local desktop use (you may e.g. try biblia.com not-logged-in and logged-in to compare).

The FSB usually comes with the Lexham bible and I wonder why you had to "purchase" it separately. The wiki page http://wiki.logos.com/Free_Logos_Books will give some advice on further free books you can get for Logos, but nearly all bibles have to be paid for.

It must be that I had the Lexham Bible and for some reason it disappeared. Guess it doesn't matter as long as I have it now.
