I am thoroughly frustrated that the software will not open at all on my new macBook Air.

Sorry to hear you are having problems and thanks for posting the logs.
It looks as though you have a corrupt file.
Please remove "/Users/zacanderson/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/6oca7pdc.kus/HistoryManager/history.db" and restart Logos.
