Shortcut on kindle

I am running this on the Kindle Fire HDX and the installation doesn't create a shortcut on the carousel, nor in the apps screen. I have to use a file manager to launch the app directly.

I've tried uninstalling, restarting and reinstalling and the problem persisted so I don't think it was a one off install problem.

Which app and what kind of Kindle Fire HDX device are you experiencing this issue with? I just verified that the latest Bible beta v4.0.6 installed properly and that the Bible icon is accessible on a Kindle Fire 7" HDX tablet.

If you can provide more detailed duplication steps we can try to better duplicate the issue.

FWIW, I've tried an uninstall and reboot (as above) so perhaps there is something residual on the device causing the problem? Any ideas what?

I've tried removing the app a couple of more times. Once using ES Explorer and once using the kindle "manage applications" screen where I uninstalled, cleared all data, cache, etc. I reinstalled and have the same problem.

For what it is worth, I installed the 4.0.5 then removed it then installed the version from the store then removed it and then installed 4.0.6.

No ideas yet why this might be happening for you. Are you using the Bible app or FSB, Vyrso, Verbum, Biblia? Could you try installing one of the other 4.0.6 apps and see if you experience the same issue?

OK. Vyrso isn't in the Kindle store, but I managed to replicate it with FaithLife.

Install and login to the Beta
Delete the beta
Install the store version from the store and log in
Remove the store version from User Apps using ES File explorer
Install the beta
You won't have a shortcut in the apps screen (at least I didn't).

A few updates:

Step 4: it doesn't matter how you remove it.

Installing the store version restores the icon, uninstalling and installing the beta results in no icon.
