Logos PLEASE add Sermon Compilation into Sermon Guide

There are many books and compilation/archive of sermons now..

I think it is time for Logos to tag/catalog/include all the sermon series available into the sermon guide or something...

we have Tim Keller, Spurgeon, Skip Heitzig, Greg Lauire, Mark Driscoll, Jimmy Evans and not to include the community pricing books that HAS gazillion OF SERMONS!!!!!!!

otherwise they'll be missed by us in our study (isn't Logos' motto is to save us time in preparation)

Also, please add a search feature "SEARCH SERMON BY VERSES"

Please Logos make this a new feature in Logos 5.3

Mike, I agree easier access to sermons is a need.

You may not be aware of it, but some of Logos' users have created index files of these sermon sets and have posted them in the Files section of the Forum. http://community.logos.com/forums/t/65730.aspx

These have to be turned into Personal Books and placed in a collection, the collection then needs to be added to your Sermon Started Guide. It is the work-around available at this point.

I should add that you can also just create a collection of all your sermons and put that collection in your Sermon Starter Guide. That approach will turn up any sermon with any reference to a scripture text. That might not be what you want and may want to see only sermons focused on your chosen text. For that the index files above are the ticket.

But that's a lot of work for me to scroll every Microsoft documents to see whether that person has ever preach on that verse or not. Plus I'll be wasting more time looking at other person's sermons that I don't even have.

I want Logos to really incoperate this feature directly into Sermon Guide & Search Feature.

I'm sure Logos can throw this in easily, since everyone who owns Logos indexes their library 2-3 times a week at least..!!! That's what indexing is for right?

I agree with you in principle although a collection searched by Bible reference provides a reasonable substitute. However, I would also like the sermons keyed to liturgical date. Especially when looking at older sermons this is a key that has no substitute.

Mike, I am not suggesting you do that. Read that whole thread (especially the start of it) and you'll see those files are mean to be converted to Logos Personal Books, put in a collection, and included in the Sermon Starter Guide so Logos automatically searches these indexes and locates the sermons when the guide is run. Perhaps you are unfamiliar with Personal Books and their use in Logos. They are simple to create from files like this. You can check here: http://wiki.logos.com/Personal_Books .

This is the only work-around that will give you sermons by the text they are based on at this point in time.

I did that .. but I just dislike the fact that I have to do that for every sermons I've bought from Logos .. plus I have to create a new guide template too.

I agree. It's a matter of them indexing the sermons by topic and by main text and then adding the 'discovery' capability to the software. I'm not sure what's involved, but it is a good suggestion.
