funny typo

"Desire is natural, Cod-given."
Faith & Mission, vol. 4 no. 1, page 4.
I'm not 100% sure, but I went ahead and reported this as a typo

The Piscine deity strikes again! In the early days of OCR we had a number of books where Cod made an appearance. Eventually we switched to having our contractors key the texts instead of OCR them to get higher accuracy, Now OCR has gotten a lot better, so our contractors use some combination of OCR and manual proofing/keying. In the bad old days, somehow 'ld' would frequently be identified as 'm' as well, so I saw one "typo" (OCRo?) "For Cod so loved the worm...". Brilliant.
We've collected a number of fun typos over the years. My favorite is one Rick found: "Imitate me as I irritate Christ."

LOL!!!! I'm sure it is still true that Cod love worms... just probably not the Truth one would be looking for while reading that resource.
"imitate me as I irritate Christ" Another ROFLOL! While certainly NOT the intention of the text, still often true none-the-less...

A wonderful reflection on the parable of the persistent widow...

I guess the alternate translation is...
"Desire is natural, it comes from fish tacos."

That reminds me of an incident about 20 years ago when I had prepared a handout for my SS class. I had worked long & hard on it. I ran the spell checker to make sure that I had not made any spelling errors.
In front of the class, I was reading from the handout, a KJV verse, which I had typed "Go hat..." instead of "God hath..."
The words were spelled correctly. I just had typed the wrong words. [:$]

As a creator of many PBBs I can attest how hard it can be to find errors in OCR. Logos does a really good job when you consider how many resources they have published.
My most embarrassing typo using OCR was in my current line of work as an author and educator of Notaries Public in the U.S. You can image how horrified I was to find multiple instances of the word "public" misspelled.

You are obviously not familiar with the definition of Lutefisk: "The piece of cod, which passeth all understanding".

The one I sent in yesterday (23rd) was "He brew."
If I'd read this thread I would have let you know which source it originated. [:D]
Merry Christmas!

Sadly I can think of a few clergy who this would most definitely apply to....
