Inconsistent icons

At top left of the home screen there are 2 icons:

1. Magnifying glass: but do not open the search screen. Instead, it's for writing the verse. 

2. A group of horizontal lines: it opens a reduced version of the verse picker. 

Inside a bible, when selecting the verse picker (icon with a group of horizontal lines), it has the option to enter the passage, pick the verse or select recent ones. This should be consistent throughout the application. At the home screen, why 2 icons for the same job? 

Also, it seems the star does not always means "Favorite". At passage guide & bible word study it does nothing. Inside some resources it opens a list of options. When I select any of them, nothing happens. Maybe are links to resources I don't have?

First, let me clarify about the "reduced" version of the verse picker. When you open the verse picker from inside a resource, it also includes the Table of Contents for that resource. On the home screen, you're not in the context of a resource, so there is no Table of Contents to include (I believe we use the books from your preferred Bible as for the home screen verse picker, but I could be wrong about that).

Yes, the magnifying glass is currently redundant on the home screen - you can only type verses in the search field. I believe the plan is to eventually add additional functionality to that control (possibly similar to the main "Go" field on the home screen of the Desktop software), which is why it exists.

Also, it seems the star does not always means "Favorite". At passage guide & bible word study it does nothing. Inside some resources it opens a list of options. When I select any of them, nothing happens. Maybe are links to resources I don't have? 

The star does always mean Favorites, but rather than navigating to somewhere, it's adding a new favorite. When you click it in a Passage Guide, for example, you should be seeing a little popup message at the bottom of your screen that says "Added Favorite "Passage Guide: Leviticus 18"". You can find all the favorites you've added by going to the Favorites screen from the navigation drawer. The reason you get a popup when clicking the star in a resource is because there's multiple verses available and it's not sure which one to add as a favorite. When you choose one of the items from the list, it adds it as a favorite.

Fun fact you may not have known: If you're not sure what one of the action bar icons represents, you can long-click on it and it will display its name [:)]
