try this instead:
<LouwNida = Louw Nida 25.45> NOTEQUALS love
OR
<GreekStrongs = Strong’s Greek #27> NOTEQUALS love
These must be searched in texts that contain these fields such as ESV, NKJV, NRSV

lets suppose I had 2 Louw Numbers to exclude is there an operator I can use to keep this simple or does it get complex quickly?

One other suggestion if you are using RC 4.0a, now available, but soon to be in final release you can run a search on joy and then select analysis from the search and sort your hits by Louw Nida as shown below:
Note, I collapsed the results for better viewing, but each section contains the verse hits as appropriate.
