I'm looking into Logos on the Kindle Fire, so went to amazon to look at the Logos Bible App.
See http://www.amazon.com/Logos-Bible-Software/dp/B0062RM1VQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=mobile-apps&ie=UTF8&qid=1384887800&sr=1-1#
Suddenly I noticed the Rating at the top - GUIDANCE SUGGESTED
I mentioned it to my wife, and she asked what the rating was for the Koran - She was right. All the versions I looked at were rated - ALL AGES
well, I guess Amazon got it right, I mean the Bible is the living word of God, it could change your life forever!
It is also possible it has nothing to do with the bible, but the problem is in the app, doing things as described in this definition of "Guidance Suggested"
"Based on information provided by the developer, the content of this application has material that is appropriate for most users. The app may include account creation, location detection, user generated content, advertisements, infrequent or mild references to violence, profanity, or crude themes, or other content not suitable for all ages."
Well, the Bible does have some adult themes in it (sex, murder, adultery) and words like foreskin and piss (KJV). I've never read the Koran, but maybe it's less shocking to delicate ears.

Okay folks. Let's get the facts straight.
Come on, I haven't even had my first [C] and I'm reading posts that make me [8-|].

It's also not in English.
It's no less in English than the Bible is. Both were written in other languages but have been translated into English. One could argue that in both cases it's probably better to read it in the original (Hebrew, Greek, Arabic) if you know the language, or to learn the language well enough in order to be able to read it.
Okay folks. Let's get the facts straight. It is not the Bible but the Logos Bible app which is rated guidance suggested The reason for the rating is the dynamic content i.e. unknown content The content of the book "The Bible" is not the reason for the rating I find no Android app for the Koran that has dynamic content to compare the rating to Come on, I haven't even had my first and I'm reading posts that make me .

You missed the central sentence and misread the entire meaning of that popup: "The maturity rating associated with this application pertains only to the static elements of the application and does not cover any dynamic information."
You missed the central sentence and misread the entire meaning of that popup:
Nope
Which means: we can't judge the dynamic content because we don't know what it is. Therefore we have warned you that there is dynamic content.
Beside the rating the reason is given as "This app may include dynamic content".

Of course all of this is to just cover themselves.
Exactly. They could have just as easily made web access a separate attribute rather than part of the rating algorithm.

I am trying to be faithful to how a Muslim would explain it. There can't be a "translation" of the Koran, only an "interpretation for understanding." The "Koran" in English isn't the Koran.
Most Christians, and particularly "evangelicals" would not describe the Bible in those terms, but would explain it as you have done.

To me that sentence ("The maturity rating associated with this application pertains only to the static elements of the application and does not cover any dynamic information.") means the maturity rating they have given the app ("Guidance Suggested") pertains only to the static elements, not the dynamic content. In other words, as you said, they are making no guarantees whatsoever about the dynamic content -- users are at their own risk. But the rating they have given ("Guidance Suggested") applies to the static content only, it is not about guidance being suggested for the dynamic content. The disclaimer in the popup does give that extra info, but it's not what the "Guidance Suggested" rating is about.
We are splitting hairs here, I know. But I also know that you and I love to split hairs, so there you go.
Not to argue but to put the thread back on topic: I know you are the Google expert but running 2 queries against Amazon there appear to be only one handful of apps with dynamic data that are not also "guidance suggested" ... one is an app for a particular educational site, one is a weather forecaster .... I rest my case. [;)]
