Random opening locations for Bible Word Study Guide

After one of the recent updates (I think it was 5.2), when I open a Bible Word Study Guide by clicking on a Greek or Hebrew word in the Word by Word section of the Exegetical Guide, the Bible Word Study Guide seems to open randomly in one of the resource tabs I have open in my layout.

Prior to the update, the Bible Word Study Guide would ALWAYS open in the left pane (the same one that the Exegetical Guide is open in).

I really would like to get the old behavior back. Is there some way to specify where the Bible Word Study Guide will open rather than the unwanted randomness that is now happening?

Logos have changed the location where resources/guides open in 5.2. It's supposed to be more consistent now. Generally speaking, resources/guides will open next to similar resources/guides. So, generally speaking, if you open a new BWS it will open in the panel that contains other BWSs.

There's no setting you can change to modify this behaviour. However, you can drag to open (instead of clicking to open). That allows you to very easily specify the exact location you want.

it would be helpful to have a screenshot of your layout.

I have three vertical tiles with two being "full" width. Irrespective of which "full" tile EG is in, Word by Word will open a BWS in the other "full" tile, not in the same one.

That's not the way it is working for me. I have two tiles and a new BWS guide always opens in the right tile no matter if I have a current BWS in the left tile. I honestly cannot believe that Logos has not given us user control to direct which tile certain windows open in. There are certain windows that I want to open in a large tile and others that I want to open in a small tile and Logos seems to always choose the opposite.

If you're opening a BWS from an Exegetical Guide, then Logos will also try and place the BWS in a different panel to the EG, so that you can see both at the same time. I think that behaviour takes priority over placing it next to existing studies.

You have user control through click+drag. The problem with this feature is that we all want different things, and it's not easy to translate those desires into a simple set of options when there are an infinite number of layout possibilities.

That does seem to be the case. I drag a BWS to the same panel (the left one) that the EG is open on, and the next BWS I try to open goes to one of my other panels every time.

Yes, but click and drag is a nuisance! :-)

Here are a couple of simple options (simple in non-programmer thinking!):

Give us the ability to turn off the new behavior and revert to the old if we wish.
Implement a "Target" BWS so that all subsequent openings would be sent there. (Similar to the "Send Hyperlinks Here" setting for Bibles.)

My request was ignored during Beta! However, it is effectively the same for my layout after some tweaking (by Logos).

Click and drag doesn't work when right clicking a word.

I'm not opening BWS from an EG. I'm right clicking a word in my preferred Bible and selecting BWS.
