L5 Won't Stop Indexing; Rendering MacBook Pro Nearly Useless

HELP! My LBS 5.1a SR-1 (5.1.1.0600) constantly indexes in the background rendering my MacBook Pro nearly useless (yes, like I just said in the subject line). I'm running OSX 10.9 Mavericks with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. When I uninstall Logos, my Mac works flawlessly. When I reinstall, Logos works great until the little blue box in the startup bar shows up and begins indexing. Then it never stops and runs my Mac so hard that it is too hot to use on my lap and even stays hot overnight. What am I missing?

Constant indexing is abnormal. Three thoughts: 1) More resource(s) need to be downloaded, 2) indexer is crashing, and 3) indexing is not completing e.g computer shut down before indexing done.
1) When Logos detects new or updated resource(s) for your library, indexing is stopped while resource file(s) are downloaded. Personally have experienced download of one resource file stopping a complete library index build that had been in progress for many hours. Restarted Logos in offline mode so indexing could start over and complete without download interruption.
2) To diagnose crash, would like to look at Logos diagnostic log files. Logos support has => https://www.logos.com/support/logos5/mac/problem
3) Indexing is computer intensive. Personally connect a power adapter and use a notebook cooler. Also have changed energy settings to prevent computer going to sleep while indexing. OK for screen to sleep. Indexing can take many hours so tend to index library when not need computer for hours.
By the way, the current Logos 5 release is Logos 5.2 SR-3 (5.2.0.0091) => https://www.logos.com/support/logos5/mac/install

It can take a long time to index everything the first time round. Be patient. Some systems take hours to complete - depends on your library size.

/Adam,
Thanks for your help! You solved my issue. KS4J, I fully uninstalled Logos 5, reinstalled, shut off my wifi, opened in offline mode like you suggested, and it opened flawlessly then indexed flawlessly. All my issues were resolved! Thank you both for your help! God bless!
