I am saving up my money to buy a base package. However, I see books on sale that I would like to go ahead and purchase. Can I go ahead and buy these books or do I have to have a base package to buy them?
Hi Ron - and welcome to the forums.
you can buy books without a base package but, if they are included in any base package you later purchase, you won't get the full value discounted.

Hi Ron, welcome to the forums. If you haven't seen it yet, Logos does offer interest-free payment plans (however they do charge a flat monthly fee of around $5) to allow you to buy a base package now and spread the cost over 12-18 months.
I took advantage of this when I became a new Logos user, and long after paying off my original base package, I'm still taking advantage of payment plans to add upgrades and more expensive resources to my library!

As Graham stated, you will not get the full value discounted from the package for the resources that you did purchase, but you will get a discount for them.
You can see free Logos products listed here: https://www.logos.com/products/search?Status=Live&start=0&sort=pricelo&pageSize=60&unlocked=no
You can see free Vyrso products here (and they can be used in Logos): https://vyrso.com/products/search?q=&start=&sort=pricelo&pageSize=24&unlocked=no
You do need to be logged into their website for these links to work.
When you get a Base package you will pay roughly 11% of the total retail price of the resources, so if you already own a $150 resource the discount will only be $16.50.
Thanks everyone for your help so far.
So, if I get the free core engine then I will be able to upgrade to the base package and still keep the books that I had on the free core engine? Furthermore, if I have the free core engine and upgrade to the base package would I need to upgrade the software or only download the books and data sets for the core engine?
Thanks again.

Yes.

You'd only need to download the extra resources and data sets. The software engine should stay the same.
I imagine indexing - which follows the download of new resources and data sets - would take some time following you upgrading from a few books to a base package - but everyone needs to go through it at least once! [:)]
