How Do I Copy A Verse or Anything Else

I hope this is the righ place to ask the dumb question.

Yesterday (12/22) I installed L4 on my Mac.  I have been a long time L user on PC.

How do I copy a verse or text from a book to Word?

I have highlighted and gone to Edit options.  Copy is not a highlighted option.

No question on here is dumb! Ask anything you want!

Highlight text, then right click it and select copy. The menu item File-->Copy does not work yet.
