Downloads not happening, Win 7.

Previously, downloads and updates would happen automatically.

Now hovering over the icon shows

"Logos Bible Software is downloading updates (0% of 154.1MB)"

This has been the case for a couple of weeks now, only the download size is increasing.

My settings say Download automatically between Midnight and Midnight.

I tried to provoke a download by clicking on my "Update Now" shortcut. It says that updates are available and will be downloaded for me automatically. I have tried using different internet connections without success.

only the download size is increasing.

This typically means that downloaded patches are corrupt and have to be downloaded again. If you can enable logging (https://www.logos.com/support/logos4/windows/logging) and post logs here, we may be able to provide a more specific solution.

I would also recommend updating to the free version of Logos 5, which has many improvements and bug fixes; download it for free from: https://www.logos.com/installation

Given your comments, I cancelled the download and closed the program. When I reopened it, the indexer began to run. Later, the download progress had gone to 20% and was stuck there.
So I cancelled again and restarted. Left it for a time. stuck on 0%, even now.

Up until now I haven't been able to convince myself of a benefit of going to ver 5 but I am certainly willing to try your recommendation if you can assure me
1. that I lose none of the functionality that I enjoy now.
2. that I will be able to revert to v 4 if I want to.

Your log shows a worryingly high number of "Some kind of disk I/O error occurred" errors. I would strongly recommend running a full disk check. If any errors are reported, it would be highly advisable to replace your primary hard disk before it fails catastrophically.

1. Logos 5 is an upgrade to Logos 4 that keeps all of its functionality (while adding several major new features, even if you don't buy a Logos 5 base package). The new features in Logos 5 are listed here: http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_5.0; Logos 5.1 and Logos 5.2 have added even more new features, optimisations, bug fixes, and improvements. Eventually, Logos 4 will be unsupported; we highly recommend keeping up-to-date with the latest version.

2. You cannot downgrade to Logos 4. Once you upgrade, you can't go back without uninstalling & completely removing Logos 5, then reinstalling Logos 4 from scratch.
