Help with Email Address Change

I am trying to change my email address on Logos.com, but it keeps directing me to Faithlife. Now I suspected the two accounts to be linked, so I changed my email address on Faithlife and purchased a free book on Logos.com to see if I would receive an email with the updated email address. Instead of the email going to the new email address, it went to the old one. How do I change my email address on Logos?

Welcome to the forums Ryan. I have never changed my email address so I'm not speaking from first-hand knowledge. Certainly you can change your email address on your profile as you said that you already have done. All of your Logos accounts are linked to that email unless you have set up multiple accounts.

I cannot confirm this but I seem to remember reading that it can take a bit of time for a email address change to be applied to your Logos account.

    Hi Ryan,

You should be able change your email on faithlife.com now as the UI for profile changes moved there from logos.com.

I don't see any record of a change to your email address.  Did you get a confirmation from faithlife that it changed?  Both the UI and an email should inform you of this occurring.

I'll do some investigation, but in the meantime can you try changing it again and let me know what you see when you do try to change it?  And perhaps when you are trying so I can look in the logs to see what might be happening here.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Mike, can you confirm whether there is a time-gap between changing your email address and having that change applied to all Logos settings. Is this instantaneous for every part of Logos?

    Hi Bruce,

For what he's talking about it should be "instant" to change their email address. For the email subscription lists I believe that is the one that can take longer depending on what action they're taking.

"instant" in quotes as we're dealing with network/database/etc which are most of the time an instant thing for a person using it, but can take seconds when under load, connectivity issues or with other performance related issues.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi Ryan,

I was able to change an accounts email address via faithlife.com.  If you cannot do so could you please provide some more information as to what is happening and you're environment?  Operating System and version, browser and version.

So you should be able to change your email address here after signing in with your old email/password.
    https://faithlife.com/account/edit

Then you should get a confirmation email at your old and new email address.  And the page should show your new email address on it.  You can also verified it has changed by signing out of faithlife.com or www.logos.com and signing in with the new email address.

    Thanks,
    MIke

Thanks Mike. I can use that information to pass on to others in the future.

My apologies, it has been my fault the whole time. I was looking at the contact info section rather than the account section near the right-hand side of the screen. Thank you so much for your assistance though.

No worries Ryan.  Just glad to hear there wasn't something blocking you from changing your email address.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Friends,

I just spent 20 trying to find this and I did eventually make my way to changing my e-mail address. This should be much more intuitive. Many of us think of our "Logos" account, as we have been with the software for, what, close to 20 years!?!?!?  If we go to our "Logos Account" information, we are just kind of assuming that we will find our Logos Account information and not have to go somewhere else.

    Thanks for your consideration.

And, I was just notified of this post via my old email address, even though I logged out and back in under my new email address.....

Greg, I rewrote email notifications, they should now go to whatever email you have on your Faithlife profile.
